Verse 1 Lost in the silence, chasin' a soul that wanders about. Hopin' I find it, 'cause I'm feeling too old to chase it around. I stare through these eyelids,  Hopin' that the darkness reveals what I hide. Each night I fight it, but I still wake up with these memories lyin’ there by my side. Chorus (So I'll keep)  Livin' off a coffee, dying off a cigarette. x 2 Verse 2 Trapped in this body, locked up inside I am bound up in chains. Like the world just forgot me,  (I) feel like headin' to the tracks, gon' lay down for a train. Not alotta good things about me, I know. At least when you tell me wont you look me in the eyes? I’m no life to copy, I realize. But I know that if you did you'd be surprised with what you find.  Chorus (That I keep) Livin’ off a coffee, dying off a cigarette. x 2 Bridge I put this to song, hopin' my mind would be cleared. I play for my soul, I've never played for my ears. And when I pray to the lord, I simply pray that he hears.  That same ol' song I've been prayin' for years.  Chorus Livin’ off a coffee, dying off a cigarette. x 2

Verse 1 One calls it an idol, the other calls it a gift. One calls it sailing, the other calls it a drift. One calls it fancy, the other calls it thrift. One calls it dancing, the other calls it a trip. Can you feel the dissonance? Woah-oh Verse 2 One seeks for refuge, a lack of confidence. One hides his life behind the noise between his lips. One sees the future, the other makes his wish. One sees a lifetime, the other gets just a glimpse. Can you feel the dissonance? Woah-oh Verse 3 One looks to heaven, the other makes a fist. One lets his feet drag, the other moves too quick. One seeks for answers in a deep and dark abyss. One takes his chances on a calculated risk. Can you feel the dissonance? Woah-oh

I can never find the words to say what I need to say, My tongue has betrayed me.  Robbed of the man I am, by my own two hands, Desire will slay me.  These wanting eyes have trained me. Late at night as the ceiling spins and this feeling wins, the spirits are speaking. And this poor heart of mine is brought in for the reaping, to the sound of the widow’s weeping. This old man’s a stubborn fool, never kept his cool, Why was he invited? Oh, but he sure does look delighted.  There’s a little bit of him in me and me in him, I cannot hide it. Though I fight it, All consciousness begins to fade. Because He lets me question why as if just to say, “I’m that feeling in your gut that you never could explain. And now you understand to know love, you must first know pain.”

Verse 1 God please speak to me. I’m having trouble listening. Ive spent my life searching, to find, there’s nothing missing. God please speak to me. I can almost hear you whispering. Hear this broken voice cry out from a heart thats resisting. Chorus (But) What will be will be. What will be will be. You’ll find no welcome here, said your future to your fear, What will be will be. Verse 2 Theres no welcome here for me, just this gathering of trees and fallen leaves. There’s no marching band for me, just the single drunken man stumbling through the street. There’s no carnival for me, just the howling of the dogs as the city sleeps. There’s no welcome here for me. Chorus What will be will be. What will be will be. You’ll find no welcome here, said your future to your fear, What will be will be.

Verse 1 As the kids by the water see the smoke in the air, and the look of contentment you wear as you stare, you’ll hear them whisper behind you, wondering, why is she there? And they’ll freeze as you turn to them, telling them, “what’s fair is fair.” Chorus Burn it down to the ground, burn all you can see. Burn it down to the ground, every memory of me. And when the embers die down, you've gotta be swift on your feet, to gather my ashes and send them to sea. Verse 2 Let the kites in the sky be your view from the mirrors, as you're driving away, down the coast by the pier. And while you're fixing your makeup, using your knees to steer, dont let the cinge on your eyelash cause you to fear. Chorus Burn it down to the ground, burn all you can see. Burn it down to the ground, every memory of me. And when the embers die down, you've gotta be swift on your feet, to gather my ashes and send them to sea. Bridge Wooah (repeated to end)

I perspire for the soul that’s inside of me is colder than the air that surrounds me. Oh-woah-oh, the enemy has found me. x2 From the dark, it whispers. I’ve no choice but to listen, for the noise is persistent. I just wish that this creature inside me, would stay at a distance. My dreams they rot, with the schemes and plots, eating away at my thoughts as I try and find a way through the dark. I perspire for the soul that’s inside of me is colder than the air that surrounds me. Oh-woah-oh, the enemy has found me. My dreams they rot, with the schemes and plots, eating away at my thoughts as I try and find a way through the dark.

Free your mind from the space that you take up. We’re in love with ourselves in need of a break up. Defined by our fear and our makeup. We’ve been sleeping for so long, in need of a wake-up. Pre-Chorus It’s like the lights are on, but nobody’s home. It’s like the lights are on, but nobody’s home. It’s like the lights are on, but nobody’s home. Yeah yeah yeah. Chorus Hey hey look around. Ain’t no righteous man to be found. So as for me and my house, we’re gonna live like my maker says, my maker says. Verse 2 Im tired of seeing souls pressed into molds, no time for second guessing. It’s really getting old, simply doing what you're told’s no ticket into heaven. Faith and love alone give me life, give me song, Ain’t no question. This world is not my own. I’ll die alone before Ill ever change that message. Pre-Chorus It’s like the lights are on, but nobody’s home. More like the pied piper’s got you moving along. It’s like the pied piper’s got you moving along. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Chorus Hey hey look around. Ain’t no righteous man to be found. So as for me and my house, we’re gonna live like my maker says, my maker says. Bridge Chorus Hey hey look around. Ain’t no righteous man to be found. So as for me and my house, we’re gonna live like my maker says, my maker says.

Verse 1 Deep in the shadow you latch your hidden door. You mine for well-crafted lies, ‘neath these old wooden floors. They’ll permeate your skin, seep through your pores. Until this temporary vessel will sail on no more. But hear the angels cry, “Salvation’s sitting by your side.” Verse 2 To run is the not the answer, to stay is not the goal. Cause if the moment was truly captured, why’d you ever let it go? For every object there’s a master, for every thought there is a poem. And there’s a path in every pasture that leads to where the water flows. But hear the angels cry, “Salvation’s sitting by your side.” Chorus Let go of what you've done and let that old river run. Wash away what you’ve become, and let that old river run. Fight the fire of a burning sun, just let that old river run. Until thy kingdom come, let that old river run. Verse 3 The greatest of deception shows its face in the light. Because the center of attention is the perfect place to hide. First the falling of an angel darkened hearts darkened minds, now something deep inside must die before you'll ever be alive. But hear the angels cry, “Salvation’s sitting by your side.” Chorus Let go of what you've done and let that old river run. Wash away what you’ve become, and let that old river run. Fight the fire of a burning sun, and let that old river run. Until thy kingdom come, let that old river run. x2
